We met at a bar...

...at least that's where they were introduced to each other.  In 2010, their company was hosting a professional networking event at the super swanky US Grant Hotel downtown.  Steve was working photography for the event, and Ashley was in attendance.  Halfway through the event, their mutual friend Ben pulled Steve aside and said, "Steve, do you know Ashley?  Ashley, this is Steve."  Distracted by the event, Steve replied with a brief, "Yes, I've seen you around the office.  Sorry, gotta run - have more pictures to take," and he disappeared into the crowd, leaving behind a flurry of ka-chik, ka-chik, ka-chik...

Swoon.  Apparently that was enough to leave Ashley wanting more.

A few months later, Steve and another mutual friend, Oscar, were slated to travel to Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas for work. Oscar bowed out of the trip due to his own wedding plans and recommended that Ashley go in his place. Steve took the opportunity to spend more time with Ashley and learn about her work, family, passions, and how she gets airsick from time to time...

Poor Ashley...

From being stuck on a bizjet under the command of an overzealous test pilot for 5 hours, to late-night jaunts on the Vegas strip, to playing our anthem "Like a G6" on repeat, to exchanging furtive glances over lunch without attracting the attention of coworkers, memories were made on that trip that paved the road towards getting to know each other more and more.
