Yep.
We've been talking about it and gradually formulating the plan for a few years. This is how kids are getting married nowadays, brah.
Can you imagine people telling you what you should do for your wedding for three years? Just joking (mostly) – we love all of our friends and family!
Seriously though, we figured it would be more fun this way.
It's a secret.
There are no lots or street parking near the venue – all parking in the area is private property. Complimentary valet and shuttle services are provided for the guests' convenience and is mandatory.
If you have special requirements (such as guests with limited mobility), please contact Steve and Ashley to coordinate before the event.
Allow at least 15 minutes for valet, pick-up, and arrival at the venue. Valet and shuttle services will be set up at the pick-up area starting at 2:30 PM for guests interested in exploring the venue. Welcome refreshments will be served. The ceremony will begin at 3:30 PM sharp.
The valet and guest shuttle service will be continuously transporting guests to/from the venue on demand from 2:30 PM until 11 PM. The wedding coordinator(s) will retain any remaining guests' keys after 11 PM.
Short answer: a wedding is a formal occasion and the venue is an upscale residence - please dress the part!
Dictionary answer:
For men: dress shirt/open collared shirt/polo shirt, slacks/khakis/dress pants, and leather dress shoes/loafers. Tie optional. Suit jacket/sports coat/blazer optional. No jeans.
For women: dress shirt/open collared shirt/blazer with skirt/dress pants, or cocktail dress/party dress/LBD. Heels recommended. No jeans.
There will be an open bar during cocktail hour and the reception. Tipping the bartender is the only occasion where cash will be recommended. Tips for transportation services are already paid; there is no need to tip the valet.
We are not planning on having an engagement party or bridal shower – too much pomp and circumstance, in our opinion. Your thoughtfulness is appreciated, but please save gifts and partying for the ceremony and reception.
We will graciously accept gifts chosen by guests from our registries. If guests prefer, we would be happy to receive honeymoon fund donations in place of a registry gift. Please address checks to "Stephen Chen and Ashley Coulson" and bring them with you to the event.
This is super obvious if you've ever seen Ashley eat fries or the way Steve eats tortilla chips.
No.
